Tyson Gratton at DLA Piper (Canada)'s Vancouver office, has been Clinic Adjunct in the Business Law Clinic since the 2020/2021 academic year. Tyson has a business law practice which is focused on advising video game, virtual and augmented reality, information technology, and ecommerce businesses.
Why did you decide to join the Clinic?
As a former UBC Law graduate and someone who was lucky to have such great mentors during my time as a student, I was very keen on coming back to UBC to pay it forward. Further, I believe that each of us have a duty to promote a collegial and inclusive bar and that teaching and mentoring students is an essential part of that duty.
What piece of advice do you wish to give to those considering the Business Law Clinic?
If you are considering a career as a business law solicitor and you are looking to get some practical and hands-on experience in a supportive, team-based environment, this is certainly the class for you.
