  • Nikos Harris, KC

    Associate Professor of Teaching
    Director of Experiential Learning, Faculty Lead for of Indigenous Legal Studies Academic Leadership Certificate

    Nikos Harris is an award-winning professor who also has extensive experience as appellate counsel. He has authored numerous articles on issues in criminal law and evidence, and his writing has been cited in a number of trial and appellate judgments. Nikos has served as a guest speaker for a number of organizations including Continuing Legal Education, the Trial Lawyers Association, and Crown Counsel of British Columbia. He is also is an advocacy advisor for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute which assists counsel in preparing submissions for the Supreme Court of Canada.

  • Bethany Hastie

    Associate Professor

    Bethany Hastie is an Associate Professor at the Peter A Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. Her research examines issues attending precarious labour in the intersecting spaces of labour and employment, migration, and human rights law, with a focus on migrant labour, domestic work, labour exploitation, gender and work, and employment discrimination.

  • Adam S. Hofri-Winogradow

    Associate Professor

    Adam Hofri-Winogradow specializes in the law and practice of trusts, analysing them from both internal (doctrinal, comparative and practical) and external (empirical and critical) points of view. He also has interests in private law beyond trusts, in legal history and in corporate law. Having received his DPhil from Oxford in 2007 and taught for many years at the Hebrew University, Adam joined the Allard School of Law in January 2023. He has been a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners since 2008.

  • Camden Hutchison

    Assistant Professor

    Camden Hutchison is an Assistant Professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, where his research and teaching focus on corporate transactions, comparative corporate governance, and the historical development of corporate law. He has also published on corporate taxation and competition law. His current research focuses on the relationship between legal policy and entrepreneurship.

  • Yuvraj Joshi

    Assistant Professor

    Yuvraj Joshi is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia Allard School of Law, where he teaches constitutional and transnational law and writes on issues of equality. He is also a Fellow of the Harvard Carr Center for Human Rights, a Faculty Affiliate at the UCLA Promise Institute for Human Rights, and a Research Scholar at the UC Berkeley Miller Institute for Global Challenges and the Law.

    Professor Kaushal joined the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia in July 2016. She works in the fields of immigration and citizenship law, public law, and legal theory, and has published in all of these fields.

  • Hoi Kong

    Rt. Hon. Beverley McLachlin, P.C., UBC Professorship in Constitutional Law

    Professor Hoi Kong is the inaugural holder of The Rt. Hon. Beverley McLachlin, P.C., UBC Professorship in Constitutional Law, which he assumed in 2018.  He is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin’s Program on Constitutional Studies and a Peter Wall Scholar (2020-2021).  He researches and teaches in the areas of constitutional, administrative, municipal and comparative law, and constitutional and public law theory.

  • Liora Lazarus

    Professor

    Liora is a leading scholar at the interface between security, the rule of law, and fundamental rights. She came to the Peter A. Allard School of Law as Professor in Law in August 2020 after a long career at the University of Oxford. Her most recent post in Oxford was Head of Research at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights. She remains a Supernumerary Fellow of St. Anne’s College, Oxford, and was recognized as Professor in Human Rights Law at Oxford in October 2020. Liora teaches Transnational Law, International Human Rights Law and Security, Criminal Justice and Human Rights.

  • Michelle LeBaron

    Professor of Law

    Professor Michelle LeBaron is an internationally recognized interdisciplinary scholar on conflict transformation, arts, and resilience. Her current research is on two main areas: conflict across religious and worldview differences, and the role of arts in collective memory and commemoration processes and reconciliation. As a recipient of a Wallenberg Fellowship at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Studies (2015-2018), Michelle collaborated with internationally-renowned visual artist Dr.

  • Tamara Levy, K.C.

    Director, UBC Innocence Project

    Tamara Levy, KC is the co-founder and Director of the UBC Innocence Project at the Allard School of Law where she has taught as an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer since 2004.  She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law school in 1996, articled with the Ontario Ministry of Attorney General and then Peck and Tammen (now Peck and Co.) in Vancouver. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 1998. She has practised as both defence and crown counsel.
