Marlee Kline Room - Allard Hall 424
The Marlee Kline Room is also known as the CFLS Lounge. It is a great space for studying, discussion, and relaxation. There are couches, workspaces, puzzles, paint-by-numbers, tea, cookies and a kettle – just bring your own mug!
The space is generally open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM every weekday, even if the lights are off. Occasionally it is booked for CFLS Steering Committee meetings or other events.
Library
The CFLS library, located in the Marlee Kline Room, is a lending library with a large collection of books, journals and other materials that focus on critically examining law and society from feminist and anti-oppressive perspectives.
We also have a small collection of novels and miscellaneous non-fiction books because sometimes we need to read something completely unrelated to law! These can be found on the shelf above the desks.
Students are welcome to browse the collection and spend time reading in our lounge area.
To sign out a book, simply fill in your information on the sign out sheet located on the desk. Please return the book within a month.

You can search the CFLS collection at LibraryThing. Books are organized alphabetically by the Author’s last name.
Journals are not included in the LibraryThing catalogue, but several volumes are available in the Marlee Kline Room on the shelving above the desks.

Marlee Kline Collection
Professor Marlee Kline, a member of the Allard School of Law and the Centre for Feminist Legal Studies, died on November 29, 2001, after a long and courageous fight against a serious form of leukemia. Her passing, at age 41, was a great loss to the intellectual community at UBC, and especially to the feminist legal community. Her book collection was generously donated to the Centre.
