The Business Law Clinic is composed of six credits. Four credits are allocated to the practical clinic component (Law 379) and two credits are allocated to the academic component (Law 380). Eight upper year J.D. students are admitted to the program each term. The Clinic is offered both in the fall and spring terms and is located at Allard Hall.

- Applications to the Clinic are open during the Spring Term. Information on specific dates and times can be found in the link below.
- Second and third year J.D. students are eligible to participate.
- Prerequisite: Law 459 - Business Organizations (this prerequisite cannot be taken concurrently with the Clinic)

Awards
The following awards are available to students enrolled in the Business Law Clinic.
Business Law Clinic Award
Awards totaling $3,000 are offered annually to second or third year J.D. students enrolled in the Business Law Clinic at the Peter A. Allard School of Law who have demonstrated excellence in business law and a commitment to providing business law services to non-profit community organizations and underserved members of the public. This award is made on the recommendation of the Directors of the Business Law Clinic and the Executive Director of the Centre for Business Law at the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
Jack T. EDWARDS Memorial Award in Law
A $1,300 award has been made available through an endowment established by the Edwards Family in memory of Jack T. Edwards for a student in the JD program who has demonstrated dedication to a clinical legal program at UBC Law. After serving as a fighter pilot in the RCAF reserve, Jack Edwards went on to a successful career as a lawyer in Vancouver before being appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Jack was dedicated to serving clients, as well as his profession, with integrity. The award is made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
