  • Peter Burns

    Dean Emeritus

    Professor Peter Burns, Q.C., was called to the Bar of B.C. in 1975 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1984. From 1982-91, Professor Burns served as Dean of the Allard School of Law. He has also served on the B.C. Law Reform Commission (1985-92) and the B.C. Forest Resources Commission (1990-91) and was a board member of the B.C. International Commercial Arbitration Centre from 1986 to 1996.

  • Jie Cheng

    Associate Professor
    Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Professional Programs

    Jie Cheng is an Associate Professor of Law and Associate Dean Graduate and Professional Programs at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. Her teaching and research interests include Chinese law and government, comparative constitutional law, judicial politics, and the Hong Kong Basic Law. Before joining UBC, she taught at Tsinghua University School of Law from 1999 to 2019.

  • Gordon Christie

    Professor Emeritus

    Professor Christie has a LL.B. from the University of Victoria, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has taught in universities in Canada and the United States, in Faculties of Law, and Departments of Philosophy and Indigenous Studies. He was an Assistant Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School (1998 - 2004), where he also acted as Director of the Intensive Program in Aboriginal Lands, Resources and Governments.
