Fall 2025 Clinic Students

Michelle Lee

 

Michelle is a third-year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Honours Biotechnology at the University of British Columbia, where she completed co-op terms developing geo- and electrochemical sensor prototypes at the National Research Council. She is particularly interested in intellectual property law and is excited to be able to help small businesses draft client contracts and shareholder agreements through the Business Law Clinic. Outside of classes, Michelle volunteers as a clinic head at the Law Students' Legal Advice Program. She was also an assistant editor for the UBC Law Review and a lecturer for the Legal Education Outreach program in her first year of law school. In her free time, Michelle enjoys making travel itineraries, exploring museums, and searching for the best iced coffee in town.

Keely McConnell

 
Keely is a third-year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Prior to law school, Keely completed a degree in Creative Industries at Toronto Metropolitan University, which focuses on the business side of the creative industries. During her time at Allard, Keely has volunteered as a Clinic Coordinator with Artists’ Legal Outreach, a Senior Event Assistant with the Allard Women’s Caucus, and Co-President with the Sport, Entertainment, and Law Society. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, doing puzzles, and learning how to play the piano. At the Business Law Clinic, Keely is looking forward to building on her business background and helping small businesses in the community.

Mohammad Kiumarsi

 
Mohammad Kiumarsi is a third-year JD student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Before law school, he completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at York University and later worked as a research assistant at the University of Manitoba, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and interdisciplinary projects in human anatomy, cell science, and pharmacy. Outside of academia, Mohammad is the founder and CEO of MKMedia, a photography and media business through which he has spent several years helping local businesses and non-profits tell their stories through visual content and tailored marketing strategies. He looks forward to drawing on his scientific background, research experience, and entrepreneurial work to support small businesses and community organizations at the Clinic.

Gabby Han

 
Gabby Han is a third-year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Psychology at UBC. During her 1L year at Allard, she volunteered as a presenter for the Legal Education Outreach program and as a student clinician for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP), where she gained experience in handling client files and drafting legal documents. Gabby looks forward to building upon her legal skills while assisting small businesses and non-profit organizations at the Business Law Clinic. Gabby spent her 2L summer working as an intake coordinator/phone operator for LSLAP and as a research assistant for Professor Asha Kaushal, engaging in the fields of immigration law and family law. Last year she also served as the Assistant Finance Director of the Allard Law Women’s Caucus. Outside of her studies, Gabby enjoys dancing, reading, and photography.

Matthew Fields

Matthew is a second-year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Before attending law school, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. During his 1L summer, Matthew worked as a Law Tutor and Legal Researcher with the Real Estate Division at Sauder, where he contributed to developing and updating licensing courses. Outside of work and school, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his Golden Retriever, riding his motorcycle, and being with his family. 

Joey He

Joey He is a third-year JD student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law (Allard). Before joining Allard, Joey received her Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of British Columbia, where she studied microbiology and genetics. Throughout her time at Allard, Joey has held positions with the Allard Law and Business Society, the Centre for Business Law, Pro Bono Students Canada, and the UBC Law Review. She spent her 2L summer at the Vancouver office of an international law firm. When she is not at Allard, Joey can be found trying out local cafes, experimenting with recipes, or reading new books.

Michelle Sue

Michelle Sue is a third-year JD student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Political Science. Throughout her time at Allard she has volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and played for the UBC softball team. Outside of law school, you can find Michelle snowboarding, playing tennis, and playing boardgames with friends.
