Canada Climate Week Xchange (CCWX) – a first-of-its-kind, nationwide week of climate programming – officially opens November 24, bringing together leaders across disciplines to accelerate Canada’s climate response.
Running from November 24-30, 2025, nearly 100 in-person, hybrid and virtual events across Canada will be held under a shared banner of advancing climate-aligned action in Canada. Most events are free and open to the public.
The Canada Climate Law Initiative, as a co-founding partner of CCWX, has played a central role in shaping the collaborative, solutions-focused platform that welcomes events from coast to coast to coast.
Allard Law Professor Dr. Carol Liao, Chair and Principal Co-Investigator of the Canada Climate Law Initiative, emphasizes the importance of CCWX as a convening force. “Across the country, people are developing serious climate solutions – but they are often working in silos,” she says. “CCWX creates the connective tissue that Canada urgently needs. We hope this national platform will deepen conversations and accelerate the climate-aligned opportunities already emerging across Canada.”
CCWX opens with a ceremonial Market Open at the Toronto Stock Exchange on Monday, bringing together leaders in finance, climate policy and innovation to signal the growing momentum behind Canada’s transition to a resilient, low-carbon economy. The ceremony underscores the critical role of capital markets in directing investment toward climate-aligned growth and marks a symbolic start to a week dedicated to advancing solutions across sectors.
“Canada Climate Week Xchange embodies the kind of leadership and collaboration we need at this pivotal moment,” notes Sonia li Trottier, Director of the Canada Climate Law Initiative. “Canadians across sectors have an opportunity – and a responsibility – to work together to accelerate the transition to a resilient, net-zero future.”
CCWX is supported by a founding members coalition that includes the Canada Climate Law Initiative, TMX Group/Toronto Stock Exchange, CPA Canada, the First Nations Financial Management Board, GLOBE Series, and the Responsible Investment Association.
A national call to collective action
CCWX offers an opportunity to come together, share knowledge and advance meaningful climate action. Numerous events taking place throughout the week will be of particular interest to law students and the legal community.

The event uses humour and creativity to unpack the pressures faced by governments, corporations and communities as climate impacts intensify. A facilitated discussion will follow, connecting the performance to real-world governance and accountability challenges. This unique event offers an accessible and engaging entry point into one of the most complex issues of our time.
