Profile
Sopuruchi is experienced in peacebuilding, conflict resolution and community organizing. His current research at the Peter Allard Law School is located at the intersection of sustainable development, international environmental law, natural resources law, and dispute resolution. Sopuruchi has over 5 years of teaching experience in reputable universities in Africa and Asia. He is currently a Sustainability Scholar for the Fraser Basin Council, leading a research team on developing a UNDRIP Framework for advancing the Fraser Basin Council's indigenous–focused climate and energy resilience capacity-building programs. Within Vancouver, Sopuruchi spends his time towards the creation of a community for immigrant Africans. In furtherance of this objective, he volunteers as a co-chair for the Lui Institute Network for Africa (LINA-UBC) and is a co-host on the radio show African Vibes broadcast on Vancouver COOP Radio. Sopuruchi is also the president of the Precious Fountain Foundation, an educational initiative dedicated to intervening in areas of defective education in global South countries.
