In June 2014 after decades of litigation, the Tŝilhqot’in Nation won a declaration of Aboriginal title from the Supreme Court of Canada. On the eve of the 10th anniversary of this historic decision, the Haida Nation approved a landmark title agreement with the Province of British Columbia. Join two remarkable Indigenous leaders in conversation about the past, present and future of Aboriginal title in Canada. Chief Roger William (Xeni Gwet’in First Nation) and Guujaaw (Haida Nation) will reflect on the journeys that led to these milestones in Aboriginal title, the significance for their Nations, and what these achievements mean for the future of Indigenous legal orders in Canada.
A representative from Talon Books will be attending for book sales of Lha Yudit'ih We Always Find a Way - Bringing the Tŝilhqot’in Title Case Home.
