This online financial aid calculator is designed to provide estimated bursary financial assistance for current and/or prospective Canadian (citizens and permanent residents) undergraduate students entering or in the UBC Juris Doctor (JD) Program at the Peter A. Allard School of Law.

Please be advised that:

You must meet all UBC Bursary eligibilities and apply to the UBC Bursary Program during the bursary application period to be considered for bursary support. The bursary estimate is based on students receiving full-year Canada Student Loan during study period. These are estimates only and are as accurate as the data provided. Applications are subject to audit. Special characters will not be accepted.

Please note: Only students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada are eligible to apply for this bursary.

Q3. Please answer "Yes" if you meet at least ONE of the following criteria on the first day of classes:
  • Have been out of secondary school for more than 48 months (4 years)
  • Have spent two periods of 12 consecutive months each, in the full-time labour force while not concurrently being a full-time student receiving funding through the Canada Student Loans Program
  • Are married students, or are separated, divorced, widowed, a parent, or a single-parent student
  • Have cohabited with a person, in a marriage-like relationship, for a period of at least 12 consecutive months
Q4. Would you have been out of high school for 10 years or more?
Q5. Do you identify yourself as an Aboriginal person; that is, First Nations, Metis or Inuit?
Q6. Are you a student with a permanent disability that affects your studies on a daily basis?
Q7. Are you, or were you at the time of your 19th birthday, a youth in continuing care or custody of a director of child welfare in B.C., ward of the court; this means the provincial government is or was your legal guardian?
Note:
  1. "Single" status includes Divorced, Separated, Widowed.
  2. "Living At Home" is defined as living with your parent(s)/step-parent/sponsor/legal guardian or living in a home owned or rented by them
