I am writing to congratulate you on your outstanding record of accomplishment and to offer you admission to the JD program at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. I hope that you will accept our offer of admission and that we will be able to welcome you in September.

If you have questions about attending UBC, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@allard.ubc.ca or get in touch with one of our Student Ambassadors with any questions you may have about the law school experience, life at the Allard School of Law, or living in Vancouver.

I hope that you will find your studies at the Allard School of Law to be richly rewarding. In my opinion, there is no better discipline to study than law, and no better place to study it than UBC. We look forward to meeting you in September.

Orientation leader coordinators will reach out to you in the summer with more details. In the meantime, please keep an eye on the Orientation Week website for updates including dates. Please note that orientation is mandatory for all incoming students.

Prior to Orientation Week, the IDEA Leaders program, open to incoming first-year students from marginalized groups and allies, offers a small group setting to provide inspiration, connections and resources to help support you as students, advocates and allies as you go into your first year of law school, empowering you to reach out and support others in your cohort.

First-Year Timetable -  All first-year law students are automatically registered in courses and small groups in August. A general course timetable will be published in the summer.

Historically, 91% to 99% of the Allard Law students who seek an articling job (a paid post-graduation apprenticeship required to become a licensed lawyer) report that they have secured an articling job within nine months of their JD graduation.

Health and Wellness at Allard Law - Wellbeing and positive mental health are key components of academic success and a healthy life. Our full-time, in-house Student Wellbeing Counsellor and wellness programming are available to all students.
