Mio Tomisawa

Mio is the Senior Manager of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at the Allard School of Law. She supports the Faculty in capacity building to embed EDI principles throughout the Faculty by working with leaders of units, administrative units, centres, staff and students as well as through facilitating and developing educational and training programming. Her role involves collaborating with students, staff and Faculty at Allard in order to identify and address institutional and individual barriers to inclusion and advance impactful and lasting socio-cultural change at the law school. 

Mio has previously worked with Allard Admissions as well as various roles across UBC Campus to help students. She has worked with various faculties to implement initiatives to build more inclusive, supportive and equitable environments by creating accessible resources and hosting community events. Mio holds a BSc in Biology from UBC and is currently working towards completing her Masters in Education. She is an ICF-certified coach and serves as an internal organizational coach to UBC with her Certificate in Organizational Coaching from UBC Extended Learning.
