Centre for Feminist Legal Studies

Profile

The Centre for Feminist Legal Studies is an academic centre, founded in 1997, and is dedicated to fostering inclusive feminist engagement through research, teaching and community-building. The CFLS provides opportunities for students, scholars and the wider feminist legal community to come together, build networks, collaborate on research, and exchange ideas. The CFLS has been significant in ensuring that feminist and social justice issues remain visible at the Allard School of Law, and that the law school remains connected to feminist activism, scholarship, and advocacy in the larger community.

We support the law school community by providing a welcoming and trans-inclusive space, volunteer opportunities for students, events, and activities. All students, faculty, and staff who support the aims of a feminist centre and who value equity and social justice are welcome to become involved in the CFLS community.
