Congratulations to our Fall Graduates!

On November 25, 2020, UBC held a virtual convocation ceremony. Twenty-eight students graduated from Allard Law including eight JD students, 17 LLM.CL students, three LLM students and four PhD students. 

Dean pro tem Janine Benedet offered some words of congratulations to the graduating students via video.

This special day also included the installation of UBC’s 19th Chancellor, the Honourable Steven Lewis Point (xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl), OBC. The Chancellor, who graduated from the Allard School of Law in 1985, is the first person of indigenous ancestry to hold this position.

Finally, both UBC’s President, Santa Ono, and the Chancellor wore new Indigenized academic regalia which acknowledges the relationship between UBC and the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, and UBC and the Syilx Okanagan peoples.
