Women in Law Dinner

Event Description

The Allard Law Women’s Caucus is hosting the 47th Annual Women in Law dinner on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim (1038 Canada Pl, Vancouver). The event brings students, faculty, and legal professionals together to recognize the legal community’s progress towards gender equality while drawing attention to the work that remains to be done. Please note that the dinner is not limited to those who identify as women, but we do hope that every guest in attendance holds a commitment to gender equity. Please note the venue is wheelchair accessible.

The theme of this year’s dinner is “fostering community and enacting change.” We look forward to an evening of celebrating the various ways in which diverse women in law have driven the legal profession forward. We commemorate the varied experiences, backgrounds and unique strengths of women in law,
and recognize the multitude of barriers that have existed and continue to exist which hinder gender equity in the legal profession. Attendees will hear in person keynote addresses from the Honourable Supreme Court of BC Justice Ardith Walkem, Crown Counsel Louisa Winn K.C., and Dean of Law at the
University of Windsor, Dean Reem Bahdi.

The Women in Law Dinner is a professional event that welcomes and encourages business formal and cultural attire.
