Are you curious about a career in tax law?
The Tax Law Club will be hosting a panel on careers in tax litigation. This event will be the first in a two-part series on careers in tax law (our second event, in the spring, will focus on careers in tax planning).
We will be joined by:
• Robert Carvalho, Partner – Thorsteinssons LLP
• David Jacyk, Partner – Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP
• Michael Taylor, Senior General Counsel – Department of Justice Canada
Our panelists have been involved in several notable tax cases, including MIL Investments, Alta Energy, Collins Family Trust, and Deans Knight. The panel will cover, among other things, the differences between tax planning and tax litigation, career opportunities available in private practice and at the Department of Justice, and advice for students who may be interested in a career in tax litigation or tax law more generally.
