Have you ever wondered how legal work and practice can connect to social justice? Or what it’s like to work in Public Interest or Social Justice practice as an Asian Canadian?
On Friday, 28 January 2022, join FACL BC and a panel of Asian-Canadian lawyers working in Social Justice and the Public Interest. This panel discussion will highlight their specific experiences as Asian Canadians in Social Justice and Public Interest practice, and how their work is tied both to wider Social Justice issues and movements and to Asian-Canadian communities. This will be followed by a Q&A session, where audience participants will be able to ask the questions that they’ve always wondered about Social Justice and Public Interest law.
Our panelists will include include:
- Eugene Kung, staff lawyer with West Coast Environmental Law
- Isaac Won, lawyer in the Community Law Program of the Community Legal Assistance Society
- Vandana Sood, supervising lawyer of Student Clinic at Rise Women's Legal Centre and Adjunct Professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC
This event is open to members and non-members of FACL BC.
