Shapes of Freedom: UBC OutLaws-Trallard Panel On Challenging Anti-Trans and Anti-Queer Legislation

Event Description

Join UBC OutLaws and Trallard for our first panel event of the year. Right now, the rights of queer and trans people in North America are under attack. In 2024, we saw political polarization, rising hate, and increasing political power for transphobic and queer-phobic politicians. This panel asks how transphobic, queer-phobic policies and legislation can be challenged.

Join us to learn from three well-known legal professionals in the field, Didi Dufresne, barbara findlay and Adrienne Smith, about pathways to challenge to anti-trans legislation in Canada, to protect our communities, and to champion the rights of 2SLGTBQIA+ people.

Lunch: Lunch and drinks will be provided for each registered attendee. Dietary restrictions will be accomodated. If you are no longer able to attend after registering, please notify us at ubcoutlaws@gmail.com.

Please RSVP before Tuesday, March 11th, 2025:
