Event Description:
Melanie Ash, General Counsel of the NYC Racial Justice Commission, will speak about the work of the Commission over the past two years to propose changes to the NYC Charter to uproot structural racism and put racial equity at the heart of city government.
Melanie Ash has served as General Counsel to the New York City Racial Justice Commission since 2021, on loan from the New York City Law Department. She has received a BA (Hons) from Carleton University, an LLB from UBC Law School, and an LLM from the Columbia University School of Law.
