Event Description
At this event the Public Legal Education and Information research team will present their research findings as well as draft recommendations in preparation for their final recommendations to the Law Foundation of BC and the Ministry of the Attorney General in June 2025.
The schedule for the two days is:
April 10

1:30pm: Professor Andrew Pilliar Keynote Lecture: The place of PLEI in Access to Justice
2:15pm: End User Research Results – What we learned from those seeking legal information
3:15pm: Governance/Coordination in the ecosystem – strategies and options for strengthening PLEI
4:30pm: Networking reception

9am: General Public Research Findings
9:45am: Service Delivery research – What we learned from frontline service providers and sector leaders
10:45am: Perceptions & Visibility – How the public and the legal profession understand Public Legal Education
11:30am: Closing Remarks – Review of Draft Recommendations
Participants are welcome to attend as much/little as you would like. If you work in PLEI and are traveling from outside the lower mainland for this event, we will reimburse travel costs: please reach out to Aara Johnson for more details.
