Navigating Recruit While Facing Systemic Barriers

This panel will be discussing the ways in which the Vancouver Legal Recruit creates and perpetuates systemic oppression. The panelist will share their experiences of navigating recruit and ways in which we should be challenging firms, other large employers and students with privilege to address these issues.

The purposes of the event are two fold. First, to provide students who are unfairly disadvantaged in recruiting because of their identity an opportunity to hear ways others have navigated it. Second, to educate students with privileges on these issues and hopefully give them some sense of responsibility to make it better.

This panel is being hosted by the Allard Law and Business Society (ALBS), the Asia Pacific Law Club (APLC), the Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA), Indigenous Law Students’ Association (ILSA), South Asian Law Students’ Association (SALSA) and Women’s Caucus in conjunction with the Centre for Business Law (CBL).
