LLM Taxation Career Bridge Workshop: A Practical Look at Organizational Structures

Event Description

This workshop is exclusively for currently enrolled LLM Tax students. Space is limited. Pre-registration via ACE is required, as lunch will be provided. 

Wendy Chang, CPA, CMA, LLMT alumna (’17) and Senior Manager, International Tax Services, at BDO Canada LLP , is generously volunteering her time to teach this Career Bridge Series for our LLM Taxation students. These workshops will help set you up for success as you navigate the transition from your Allard LLMT courses into the Canadian tax practitioner workplace. 

Workshop schedule (and topics):

  • Tues, Nov 4, 2025, 12:30pm to 1:30pm - Introductions and overview of the structure and expectations of a chartered accountant firm
  • Thurs, Jan 29, 2026, 5:30pm to 6:30pm - How to delivery during busy season. Panel with LLM Tax alumni working in public practice, industry, government, and as entrepreneurs on workflow management and executive functioning, to be followed by networking with employers, students, and alumni at the LLMT networking reception from 6:30pm to 8:30pm that evening.
  • Thurs, Feb 5, 2026, 5:30pm to 6:30pm - A practical look at organizational structures
  • Thurs, Feb 26, 2026, 5:30pm to 6:30pm - Overview of a scoping call
  • May 2026 (date TBC): Final wrap-up session and next steps
