Event Description:
On March 7, Cease will be kicking off Indigenous Awareness Month with the "Forest Medicine Walk" event at 12:30 pm in Pacific Spirit Park. We have a traditional knowledge holder Dr. Cease Wyss coming to UBC campus to take students on a "Spring Equinox Forest Medicine Walk" through Pacific Spirit Park. Dr. Wyss will be sharing Indigenous knowledge of the native plant life and their traditional uses. Note that this event is outdoors, not in Allard Hall.

T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss (Skwxwu7mesh, Sto:lo, Hawaiian, Swiss) is an educator, interdisciplinary artist and Indigenous ethnobotanist engaged in community based teaching and sharing. Throughout Wyss’s 30 year practice, Wyss’s work encompasses storytelling and collaborative initiatives through their knowledge and restoration of Indigenous plants and natural spaces. For Indigenous Awareness Month, Dr. Cease Wyss will be taking participants on a guided walk through Pacific Spirit park sharing knowledge of the local plant life and traditional Indigenous medicines.
