Fly on the Boardroom Wall: What Interviewers Are Saying

This session gives students the opportunity to hear what interviewers say in team meetings behind closed doors during interview week. This year, these conversations will be taking place in a virtual boardroom, but knowing what stands out to interviewers (both positive and negative) will help students land higher in their rankings. Participants will also learn about what behaviour is expected of the interviewers, which can have an impact on how students rank firms on offer day.

Kristy Foreman is the founder and principal of ForeReach Consulting. She is passionate about working with law students, lawyers and legal service providers to move their legal practices forward in ways that give them a competitive edge.  Kristy graduated from Queen's University Faculty of Law in 1997 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1999 after articling in Ontario and BC.  After her call, she practiced as a tax litigator for the Department of Justice until 2009. Over the past 11 years, Kristy has worked with students and lawyers and developed legal talent programs for a diverse set of employers. She has recruited and managed students for the Federal government, a large national firm and a mid-size Vancouver-based firm. This diversity of experience has given Kristy a rare perspective on how student hiring decisions are made and what students should consider in making decisions about their career path.
