The integration of environmental, social and governance considerations into investments strategies appears to be an unstoppable trend and fixed income securities are a crucial component of the investment landscape. Join us to hear about the integration of ESG in fixed income from investment leader Andrew Lewis.
Andre has been Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Central 1 Credit Union (“Central 1”) since 2019. At Central 1, he formulates and executes strategies for its ~$10 billion investment grade fixed-income securities portfolio originated from the liquidity of credit unions mainly in the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. He also sits on the Responsible Investment Committee and oversees teams responsible for credit analysis, cash management, deposit origination and liquidity risk. Prior to joining Central 1, Andre spent close to 20 years in treasury roles in the public and private sector at The Region of Peel, President’s Choice Financial, George Weston Limited and Manulife Financial. Most recently at The Region of Peel, he oversaw its debt issuance program and ~$3 billion reserve fund invested in fixed-income securities. At George Weston Limited, Andre held the dual-role of Assistant Treasurer, George Weston Limited and Treasurer, President’s Choice Financial. On a volunteer basis, Andre sits on the Board of the Laidlaw Foundation as the Chair of Finance and Audit Committee and a member of the Investment, Governance and Granting Committees. Andre is a CFA charter holder and holds a Master of Finance (MFIN) from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
