Marketta Jokinen of Current Talent (https://www.currenttalent.ca/about) will present this seminar on the hidden job market, and finding a job outside of the structured recruit.
The reality has always been that many legal jobs, including summer and articling positions, aren’t ever posted. Instead, they're filled using word of mouth and internal networks. It’s an insider’s game, and the only way to gain access is by becoming an insider. This workshop will give Allard Law students the social capital needed to become a job search insider.
After attending this workshop, attendees will:
- Put finding a job in the structured recruit into perspective
- Understand why posted jobs are the tip of the iceberg and what the hidden job market is
- Be familiar with the five steps they need to take to find hidden opportunities
