Event Description
Amy Larsen, Director of Global Field Engagement and Strategic Projects on Microsoft’s Democracy Forward team, plans to touch on some of the benefits and challenges of AI; deepfakes, disinformation, and information integrity; Microsoft’s efforts to support global elections throughout this historic Vote-a-Rama year; and the necessity of a multi-sector approach to democratic resilience. The keynote will also share insights about the nation state threat actor landscape as we are seeing it at Microsoft, the role of robust cybersecurity and media literacy efforts, the importance of public awareness and participation during major election years and the responsibility of tech companies like Microsoft to try to prevent harms from new technologies such as abusive AI-generated synthetic content through tools like content provenance. There may also be a short game involved.
