Event Description:
Join an intimate gathering with your fellow law school alumni to listen to the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, in conversation with Allard Law’s Professor Margot Young, Director of the Centre for Feminist Legal Studies. Conversation will focus on Beverley McLachlin’s recently published autobiography, Truth Be Told: My Journey through Life and the Law.
Doors open at 5:00 pm for a pre-reception. Copies of Beverley McLachlin’s autobiography and two recently published novels will be available for purchase during the pre-reception, and a book-signing session will take place. Book signing capacity is limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees will receive one complimentary beverage; a cash bar and light appetizers will also be available.
At 5:30 pm Professor Young will join Beverley McLachlin onstage for 60 minutes of conversation about Beverley McLachlin’s life and career. The speaking program will conclude at 6:30pm, with a post-reception to follow until 7:15pm.
