Allard Law faculty and alumni who clerked with the SCC will discuss the nature of the clerkship, the application and hiring process, and how to put together a strong application.
If you are interested in clerking, review the list of courses recommended by the BC Courts. If you are interested in clerking at the Supreme Court of Canada, please note that the Faculty’s SCC Clerking Committee recommends that you complete a seminar in 2L so that you have a sample of legal written work to provide as part of your application in 3L. The Committee also reminds students they will need three references preferably from full time faculty. If you have immediate questions about SCC Clerkships, please reach out to Professor Stacey (stacey@allard.ubc.ca) or Professor Grant (grant@allard.ubc.ca), otherwise, more details will come at info session in fall. The Career Services Office also has a detailed handout on Judicial Clerkships in the ACE Resource Library with further information regarding recommended course selection for ALL clerkships.
