Diversity matters. Especially in the legal profession, where a wide range of backgrounds means more perspectives are added to the greater legal community.
The UBC chapter of the Black Law Students' Association (BLSA) and Allard Law warmly invite students, alumni and mature applicants who self-identify as Black to join us at our upcoming in-person Admissions Panel on October 30. Hear from members of the UBC BLSA, Allard Law faculty, and special guests at this interactive discussion. This session will cover:
- The pros of pursuing law.
- Pathways to a legal education.
- What it's like to be a student at Allard Law.
- Working in the legal profession.
We always welcome the opportunity to meet with students who may be thinking about pursuing the legal profession, whether you are in first year and exploring all opportunities, in third or fourth year applying directly from university, or are already working and interested in changing careers.
To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, we will be following the guidance set out by Public Health and UBC COVID-19 safety plans, which include:
- Limiting the audience to 40 people–so register early!
- All attendees must be double vaccinated. Your vaccination passport will be checked upon entry.
- All attendees must wear masks.
- Social distancing measures.
- Food will be offered as a take-away.
