Event Description
Join us for an engaging session on the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence (AI) in legal research and writing. For students and faculty, this event will explore the emerging principles for ethical and effective use of AI tools in compliance with professional responsibility and academic integrity standards. We will discuss a number of specific AI technologies such as Lexis+ AI and ChatGPT, highlighting best practices and real-world applications.
Drawing on resources such as the Canadian Bar Association’s Ethics of Artificial Intelligence for the Legal Practitioner (November 2024) and UBC’s Draft Principles and Guidelines for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning, this session will provide practical insights in navigating the evolving landscape of AI in legal academia and practice.
