The 48th Annual Women in Law Dinner

Event Description

We are excited to announce the 48th Annual Women in Law dinner on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim (1038 Canada Pl, Vancouver).

The event brings students, faculty, and legal professionals together to celebrate the various ways in which diverse women in law have driven the legal profession forward. We commemorate the varied experiences, backgrounds, and unique strengths of women in law, and recognize the multitude of barriers that have existed and continue to exist which hinder gender equity in the legal profession. Please note that the dinner is not limited to those who identify as women, but we do hope that everyone in attendance holds a commitment to gender equity.

The theme of this year’s dinner is “fostering community building and connection.” We look forward to an evening celebrating the various ways diverse women in law have driven the legal profession forward. Attendees will hear in-person keynote addresses from the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, P.C., C.C., CStJ, Counsel for Justice Canada Isabel Jackson, and Executive Director of West Coast LEAF Raji Mangat.

Please register by filling this google doc form.

The deadline is January 31, 2025. Please note the dress code is business formal.

This event is made possible by generous sponsorships from lawyers, law firms, and other organizations around Vancouver, who will also be in attendance at the event, and who have enabled us to make this event free for students. After assigning seats to students, we will notify the respective firms about your seating arrangements. Out of respect for the firms who are generously sponsoring your seat, we ask that you commit to attending the event. If something comes up and you can no longer attend please let us know as soon as possible by emailing ubclaw.wc@gmail.com AND womeninlawdinnerassistants@gmail.com.

Please note that filling out this Google form does not secure students a seat, instead, we will be sending you emails with additional details closer to the date confirming your ticket.
