Franklin Lew Forum
A special event by the Organizing Committee for the 22nd UBC Interdisciplinary Graduate Legal Studies Conference.
Indigenous law’s renaissance has been energized by current debates on constitutionalism; natural resource exploitation, national identity, cohesion and reconciliation; and criminal justice reforms. However, indigenous legal knowledge is often a peripheral concern even though we continue to pay lip service to its importance to legal studies and research.
In line with our Conference theme, Law and Contemporary Problems, Professor Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond has graciously accepted to speak on this important topic: Mainstreaming Indigenous Law into Legal Studies and Research.
All are cordially invited.
