Visiting Judges

CALS welcomes Visiting Judges from countries with established Memoranda of Understanding or Statements of Cooperation with the Allard School of Law. Currently, the CALS Visiting Judges program is limited to one judge per year from the highest courts of each of Japan and Korea.

Visiting Judges must meet the requirements of the Visiting Scholars program, including the provision of a research plan. The faculty sponsor for Visiting Judges will be the CALS Director. All sponsorship arrangements with the Director should be confirmed prior to the submission of a formal application.

Visiting Judges will commit to providing a public lecture whose intended audience will be students, faculty, and the general public, including lawyers and members of diaspora communities. The location of the public lecture will be decided in discussion with the CALS Director and may be at the Allard School of Law, in a law firm, or in a consulate.
