Allard Law is dedicated to addressing the underrepresentation of Black legal professionals in British Columbia and beyond. We welcome applications to the JD program from Black candidates, hailing from diverse backgrounds, who will contribute to and enhance the learning environment for all members of our community.
How does it work?
Participation in the BSAP is voluntary and Black applicants who choose this process are evaluated against the same rigorous admissions standards as any other candidate. The process ensures an expedited and comprehensive review of applications, including a dedicated file review committee, with the majority of its members being Black. The aim is to offer timely decisions to applicants opting for this pathway and to offer individuals a platform to recognize and share their experiences of celebrating Black excellence.
Prospective students interested in the BSAP can opt-in on their application and apply under any of our admissions categories (General, Discretionary or Indigenous). No additional documents are required. BSAP applicants are encouraged to reflect on their relationship with Black excellence in their personal statement and to be thoughtful about what Black excellence means to them.
