On April 8, 2026, UBC Giving Day, show your support for future leaders in law.
UBC Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising event that brings people together to support causes they care about and build momentum for positive change.
This year, Allard Law is raising funds to support five impactful awards and programs that expand access to legal education and help students engage with the complex challenges facing our communities. Help us unlock over $50,000 in challenge and matching gifts for the Allard School of Law!
Indigenous Law Students’ Association Award
Created through the leadership of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association and the generous support of the legal community, the Indigenous Law Students’ Association Award provides annual support for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students entering their second or third year of the JD program at Allard Law.
By reducing financial barriers for Indigenous students as they continue their studies, this award builds capacity for Indigenous law students to focus on leadership roles and make a meaningful contribution to the Allard Law community and beyond.

Peter A. Allard School of Law Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award
The legal profession is stronger and more effective when it reflects the diversity of the communities it serves. The Peter A. Allard School of Law Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award provides up to $4,000 in annual support for incoming JD students from communities that have been historically, persistently and systemically marginalized, and underrepresented in the legal profession.
Reflecting the Allard Law community’s shared commitment to equity and inclusion in legal education, this award helps remove financial barriers for students entering their first year of law school.

UBC Innocence Project
The UBC Innocence Project gives upper-year law students the opportunity to review claims of wrongful conviction under the guidance of experienced lawyers, providing free, independent assistance to individuals seeking post-conviction review. For many students, their time at the UBC Innocence Project is the most meaningful educational experience they will have at Allard Law.
Your gift will help students investigate potential wrongful convictions while gaining practical experience that deepens their understanding of the criminal justice system.

International Justice and Human Rights Clinic
The International Justice and Human Rights Clinic is a hands-on academic program that trains Allard Law students to become effective human rights advocates. Students contribute to high-impact international cases and global justice projects, alongside organizations such as the United Nations, international criminal courts and leading NGOs.
Recent projects have supported investigations before international tribunals, advanced accountability for war crimes, and strengthened human rights protections through research and legal submissions for global partners.
Centre for Feminist Legal Studies
Founded in 1997, the Centre for Feminist Legal Studies is an academic hub that fosters inclusive feminist engagement at UBC through research, teaching and community-building. The Centre creates opportunities for students, scholars and the wider feminist legal community to collaborate, build networks and advance ideas that strengthen justice and equity.
Gifts to the centre will help sustain their events, research and community programming at a time when equity and inclusion work faces growing pressures in society. This support keeps feminist legal scholarship active, visible and well-resourced within the Allard School of Law.
