Event Description
The UBC Environmental Law Group (ELG) and the Centre for Law & the Environment (CLE) are hosting a Research-a-Thon on Threats to Southern Resident Killer Whales on March 7th!🐋
This full-day, in-person event will bring students together to identify forthcoming projects along the BC coast — such as shipping increases, pipeline expansions, and coastal development — that may pose new or intensified risks to Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW), and to examine the legal tools available to address them.
The research produced will be shared with public interest environmental law organizations such as EcoJustice and Westcoast Environmental Law, to support ongoing advocacy and protection efforts.
If you are interested in contributing to practical, impact-oriented environmental law research, we encourage you to register. Catered breakfast and lunch will be provided!
