Event Description
In recent years, the term neurodivergence has become more widely used and appreciated. Despite social shifts, an awareness of those within the legal profession and academia who are neurodivergent may be less understood. In an effort to increase this understanding and awareness, please join our panel of lawyers to hear about their personal paths as neurodivergent professionals.
When: Tuesday, Sept 9, 2025, 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Where: 6177 Walter Gage Rd., Boardroom (building entrance door is the one closest to Allard)
Spots are limited
Panelists:
- Rebecca McConchie - Defence Counsel
- Jason Birring - Mental Health Lawyer at Community Legal Assistance Society
- Liz-Anne Tam - Lawyer, Autism Advocacy
- Lee Vandergust - Crown Counsel
The panelists are all practicing lawyers who will provide insight into a variety of opportunities for success within the legal education and practice, while navigating experiences and presentations that may diverge from the "norm".
They will discuss their own experiences, mistakes, strategies, and the benefits of practicing as a neurodivergent lawyer, as well as the importance of understanding neurodivergence when working with clients.
