Peter A Allard School of Law

Fall 2020 Large Employer Career Fair

On behalf of the Allard School of Law’s Career Services Office (CSO), we are pleased to invite you to our Large Employer Career Fair, which will be held virtually on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 2-4pm PT!

The CSO's annual Large Employer Career Fair is THE event for Allard Law JD and graduate students to meet and network with large legal employers from across the country. Due to ongoing social distancing measures, we're moving this year's event online as part of a comprehensive Large Employer Careers Day.

Careers Day will kick off in the morning with dynamic and timely panels led by participating employers, followed by the Career Fair. We expect at least 200 Allard Law students to attend the Career Fair virtually, as well as employer representatives from 48 different offices, including large full-service and boutique law firms and government employers from Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary

Our virtual Career Fair will be hosted on CareersOnline, UBC's online job and volunteer board for students and alumni. Each employer will host a virtual "booth" where, using their preferred video conferencing software, the employer's representatives can share information and meet with students in a large group, small groups, and/or one-on-one. During the virtual fair, you will be able to queue up to speak with representatives from different organizations, making the most of your networking time.

Immediate Next Steps?

  1. RSVP for the Career Fair via the ACE event listing; AND
  2. Starting Mon, Oct 26 at 8:30am PT, check-in to the Career Fair on CareersOnline (where students will also be able to view the full list of participating employers and set up a video chat profile).

Who should attend?

  1. Students interested in 2021 1L Summer, 2022 2L Summer, or 2022-23 Articling positions with large Calgary, Toronto, or Vancouver firms or the government are strongly encouraged to attend.
  2. All current Allard Law students are welcome! If you are considering applying for a summer or articling position with a participating employer, the CSO encourages you to attend.

Which employers are attending?

Students can view employer registrations via the Fall 2020 Large Employer Career Fair – Employer Registration ACE Event Listing. As of Mon, Oct 26, students can also view the full list of participating employers and detailed employer bios (including tips for researching and connecting with them at the Career Fair) on CareersOnline.
