Inside Tech Law: Careers, Skills, and Myths in Technology Law

This 90-minute panel introduces JD students to the practice of technology law, assuming little to no prior knowledge of what tech lawyers do in practice. The discussion is structured as a conversational panel, with each segment opening with a shared question for all panellists, followed by tailored prompts that invite speakers to build on, contrast, or extend one another’s perspectives.

The panel aims to:

  • Demystify what it means to work in the tech space as a lawyer;
  • Expose students to multiple pathways into tech law;
  • Identify skills and experiences that support success in tech-focused legal practice;
  • Address common misconceptions about tech law among students.
