Immigration Pathways to Canada for International Students/Alumni at Allard Law – JD and Graduate Students

Event Description

Are you an Allard Law JD or graduate law student who is on a study permit, or a recent Allard alumnus on your post-graduation work permit?

This session will be a practical look at your options for remaining in Canada to study, work or live permanently after you complete your Allard Law JD or graduate degree.

You will hear from immigration lawyers with Heron Law Offices. Heron Law Offices is a Canadian immigration, administrative, and public law firm based in Greater Vancouver, serving clients across Canada and Around the World. Lawyers at Heron assist and advise on complex study permit, post-graduate work permit, immigration compliance, and work permit issues (for a fee).

You will also hear from a representative from UBC's International Student Advising office at this session. International Student Advisors are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs) who can support you in your experience as a UBC international student (for free).

Because two of our speakers are immigration lawyers themselves, who understand the complexities of the articling job search timeline and the lawyer licensing process in Canada, this session will be particularly helpful if you hope to become a lawyer in Canada or work in a law-adjacent industry after graduating from Allard Law.
