Welcome George Tsiakos
The Faculty is pleased to welcome George Tsiakos, Instruction Librarian for the Legal Research and Writing program.
Mr. Tsiakos has taught advanced legal research courses and coordinated the first-year Legal Research and Writing program at the law school as an adjunct professor over the last three years. His connection with the law school goes back even further: he obtained both his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Faculty, after completing his B.A. (History) at UBC in 1998. He has worked in the law library in various capacities, from classification analyst to reference assistant. Mr. Tsiakos obtained his Master of Library and Information Studies degree from UBC in 2011.
From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Tsiakos was Research Librarian for Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP in Vancouver, where he had originally articled following his LL.B. He served as Manager of Library Services for the firm beginning in 2010. As Instruction Librarian, Mr. Tsiakos will coordinate and teach in the law school's Legal Research and Writing program, including the new first-year Legal Research and Writing course. The Faculty is delighted to have the benefit of his extensive experience in teaching and legal research in this new full-time position in the Law Library and the law school.
